I found a comforter set in an ad yesterday that I really liked, for a good price, so I took the kiddies to Macy's today to go get it. I had to take both kids, which automatically makes my blood pressure rise simply because they can't stop fighting when they're in the car. When we got to Macy's, they went crazy, despite all of my careful yet gentle instructions and threats in the the car about staying next to me and not touching anything. They were crawling under displays, jumping on the beds, and using bed-in-a-bags for landing pads. I found what I was looking for in record time, and went to the register, where the sales lady was helping another woman with something that was apparently long and involved. They watched me struggle with keeping my darlings under control for a couple minutes, and the the woman being helped kindly said that her business can wait, and to go ahead and ring the young lady up. She was so nice! Usually, other people are wondering why I can't control my kids, or why I couldn't just spare everyone the trouble and do all of my shopping online (I considered it). Sometimes they're commenting under their breath to their friends or at best giving me a sympathetic half smile. But this lady actually let me go first and get out of there - and I really appreciated it. It's good to know that not everyone in the world has lost it's grip on kindness.

I hear people comment under their breath all the time about other people's kids at the grocery store. Hate it. They just need to keep their noses out of your business! Kids are generally a little crazy and that's normal. That was a nice gesture...wish everyone could be that nice!
I love when people are kind and understanding...doesn't happen enough.
